March 28th - Leaked Studio Clip Is From "Why I Am"?

In the video that we reported back on February 23rd, fans are noticing that Dave sings the phrase "Why I Am" at the end of the leaked studio clip. Do you hear it?

March 28th - Dave Matthews Drawing the Album Art? Album Wrapped Up!

Dave Matthews' twitter page indicates that he is "scribbling album art" and "BIG WHISKEY is all rapped up." Maybe they won't use the promotional shots outside Preservation Hall after all.

March 28th - 3 More Song Titles Released

Antsmarching.org reports that Dave Matthews Band and its management have hosted a few listening parties around the country to get people familiar with the sound of the latest album. Three more song titles have been revealed:

Funny The Way It Is
Shake Your Monkey

March 17th - Rolling Stone Interview Reveals New Song Title

In the Spring Music Section of the latest Rolling Stone, Dave Matthews talks about the new album and announces a song called "Lying in the Hands of God" which is a duet between Matthews and the late LeRoi Moore. Read the full article here.

March 16th – Photo Shoot Videos

YouTube user dwarte posted two videos of the photo shoot for the new album. The location has been identified as Preservation Hall in New Orleans. We combined the videos into one below:

March 13th – Recording & Mixing Complete?

Stefan Lessard’s official twitter page hints what we are all waiting for. “Good Mornin folks. What's the good word, I slept in pretty late because I was hanging out at the studio in LA, listening to the new tracks.” Since he writes this from LA, it appears that the recording of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is complete (the recording happened in New Orleans) and he is listening to the mix.

March 6th – Deluxe Edition Announced

Today, Amazon.com posted pre-orders for two editions of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. The first is the classic Audio CD and the second is a Deluxe Edition containing the Audio CD and a DVD. The content of the DVD is currently unknown, but most believe it's an inside-the-studio documentary of making Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.
