May 30th - Bonus Disc (Little Red Bird) Leaked
Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King’s bonus disk “Little Red Bird” appeared on the torrent sites today. It contains four great tracks leaving fans wondering why they weren’t included on the album.

May 26th - DMB To Be On Sirius XM
Starting June 1st, Dave Matthews Band will take over Sirius XM’s “Jam On” channel. Different live concert recordings will start each night at 9 pm ET, plus music from the band’s entire catalog, interviews with the band members and more. Jam On is channel 17 for Sirius subscribers, 56 for XM subscribers. For more info visit Jam On’s site.
May 25th - DMB To Appear On Jimmy Fallon

May 25th - Pandora Streams Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King (Again)
Pandora has officially started streaming Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King a day early. The quality is fair, but it gives us a good indication of what the final mix sounds like in a legal fashion.
May 22nd - Pandora Streams Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King
Fans noticed that Pandora accidently streamed the full, final version of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King for just over an hour. The final version is said to be “much better” than the April sessions. Pandora is scheduled to stream the entire album starting Tuesday, May 26th.
May 22nd - Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King April Sessions Leak
Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King appeared on the torrent sites today dubbed “April Sessions.” It contains all 13 tracks, but the winners of the listening parties have verified their copies to be different from these April sessions. We can only speculate that the April sessions is an early version of the mixing process.
May 21st - Studio Versions Disappear From Sony's Ringtones
Someone over at Sony must have caught wind of the ringtone leak and removed the studio versions from their Web site. We reported yesterday that studio recordings of “Seven,” “Why I Am,” “Dive In” and “You & Me” could be found on Sony's Music Mobile Ringtones Web site.
May 20th - European Big Whiskey Is Bigger
The European version of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is two tracks longer. “Write A Song” and “Cornbread” appears as tracks 14 and 15 on the album. It is unknown if the “Cornbread” version is the live version iTunes buyers will get or a studio version, which most fans have been waiting for.
May 20th - Listening Party CDs In the Wild
Today, 100 lucky winners of the “Advanced Listening Party Contest” received their advanced copy of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King to play at their party. The CD is heavily watermarked and does not contain any art on the disc itself. The CD sleeve states track “You and Me” to be 5:40, up from 4:52. The :48 is a hidden track featuring a short, repetitive sax line by LeRoi.

May 20th - Tap Tap Dave Matthews Band
The makers of the super popular iPhone game "Tap Tap Revenge" created a DMB version called: Dave Matthews Band Revenge that features 10 songs from the
Dave Matthews Band catalog and two from Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King: "Funny The Way It Is" and "Shake Me Like a Monkey." The app can be purchased for $4.99.
May 20th - Dave Matthews Finds Out About the Leaks
Dave Matthews apparently found out about songs from Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King leaking today. On his Twitter page, his first post was “I take it the album leaked. Nobody tells me anything.” Minutes later he twittered again, “I think the leaks may have been part of a grand plan of which I had no part. Thanks for the info. Maybe I wasn't paying attention.”

May 20th - "Dive In" & "Squirm" Leak
Seems like music is leaking daily. Today, "Dive In" & "Squirm" showed up on the Internet. Feedback from both songs has been positive, with “Squirm” being a fan favorite. We posted both the "Dive In" & "Squirm" lyrics on our lyrics page. Again, our policy is that we will not link directly to leaked songs.
May 20th - Hidden Song Verified By Listening Party Winners
As previously rumored, there is a hidden song in Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. “Song” might be stretching it as the listening party winners called it a short, repetitive sax line with some guitar and drums. The last track, “You & Me,” was previously reported to be 4:52 in length, but now has jumped to 5:40 because of the hidden track.
May 20th - DMB In Entertainment Weekly
Today, Entertainment Weekly published an article called Dave Matthews on the new DMB album -- and why they almost broke up. The article contains lots of cool information about the band's view of the past records and how relationships have been strained.
May 20th - Studio Versions Show Up In Sony's Ringtones
Studio recordings of “Seven,” “Why I Am,” “Dive In” and “You & Me” show up on Sony's Music Mobile Ringtones Web site. We only get :30 of each song which isn’t enough to get anything from previously unheard “You & Me.” However, :30 is plenty to change many fans opinions of “Seven” and wonder if “Why I Am” is a better live song.

May 19th - "Time Bomb" Leaks
To the surprise of everyone, “Time Bomb” was leaked on the Internet today. “Time Bomb” seemed to be the song everyone was worried about due to its very positive, but complex reviews. It wasn't teased or heard live until today. We are now able to verify the "Time Bomb" lyrics that we posted weeks ago to be true. As a policy of the Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King fan site, we will not link directly to leaked songs.
May 19th - "Shake Me Like a Money" Appears In iTunes Pass
After much waiting, this Tuesday’s iTunes pass content included “Shake Me Like a Monkey” which is the second track on Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. “Shake Me” has been heavily anticipated since it was teased in the “Taste of Big Whiskey” video 49 days ago.
May 19th - Spin Reviews Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King
Spin’s June 2009 issue reviewed Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King calling it “harder edge and more bottom heavy than DMB’s usual fare” and giving it a 7 out of 10 review. Read the complete review here.

May 17th - Big Whiskey Heard At Puerto Rico Starbucks
A DMB fan overheard the studio recordings of "Lying in the Hands of God," "Why I Am," "Funny The Way It Is" and "Spaceman" in a Starbucks in Puerto Rico. He happened to record a partial "Why I Am" and a full "Lying in the Hands of God." Both recordings are very low quality, but we were able to verify the "Lying in the Hands of God" lyrics that we posted weeks ago to be true. As a policy of the Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King fan site, we will not link directly to the leaked songs.

May 12th - DMB Four-Part Documentary To Appear On Fuse TV
FUSE will air a four-part documentary titled Dave Matthews Band: The Road to Big Whiskey which airs June 2nd at 8 pm ET and continues at 8 pm ET through June 5th.
May 12th - Scenes From Big Whiskey Part 2 On YouTube
Part 2 of 'Scenes from Big Whiskey' (which is found on the iTunes Pass and rumored to be on the Deluxe Edition DVD) made its way on to YouTube today.
May 8th - “Funny The Way It Is” Breaks Radio Record
This week “Funny The Way It Is" broke the record for most weekly plays in the Nielsen BDS-based triple A chart's 13-year ledger. “Funny The Way It Is" beat Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” by 18 plays.
“Funny The Way It Is” currently ranks in airplay:
#1 on Triple A charts
#24 on Alternative Charts
#29 on Hot AC charts
Breaking radio records is always a good sign for an upcoming album.

May 3rd – 'Funny The Way It Is' Video Shoot In Grand Central Station
Dave Matthews, who was in New York for the Pete Seeger birthday concert, was joined by the rest of the band in Grand Central Station on May 3rd to shoot the video to “Funny The Way It Is.”
